Visit Six: Birth Prep + Postpartum Planning
You’ve met with your doula, practiced breathing, created your birth plan, learned about comfort tools, and talked through what really matters to you. Now it’s time to bring it all together.
Your sixth prenatal visit with Melancentric is about alignment — one final moment to pause, review, and feel truly readyfor what’s ahead.
This visit is fully covered by Medi-Cal and designed to leave you feeling steady, informed, and supported before labor begins.
What We Do in This Visit
This is where we review and refine:
Your birth preferences sheet
What to bring to the hospital (birth bag checklist, paperwork, supplies)
How to communicate with nurses and providers
Comfort techniques you’ve learned (birth ball, peanut ball, breathwork, rebozo)
Partner roles and what they can expect
A quick refresh of postpartum planning (your first 48 hours, rest, boundaries, support system)
We also confirm:
Who to call when labor starts
Your provider or hospital’s instructions for when to head in
What your doula's on-call support will look like
Why This Visit Matters
It’s not just about repetition, it’s about integration.
So much information can feel overwhelming during pregnancy. This visit gives you space to pause and breathe, with your doula as your mirror and anchor.
“You don’t need to be perfect. You just need to feel prepared.”
After This Visit: We’re On Call for You
Your doula will be ready when labor begins. You’ll also have postpartum visits to look forward to — including in-home healing support, feeding guidance, and emotional care.
We stay with you. We see you through.
