If you have Blue Shield Promise in San Diego County, you may qualify for free doula support through Melancentric.
Our trained doulas are ready to walk beside you through pregnancy, labor, birth, postpartum recovery, and beyond — all at no cost to you.
HOW IT WORKS
Blue Shield Promise California covers doula services for eligible Medi-Cal members.
Through Melancentric, you can receive:
1 Welcome/Intake Visit
Up to 8 Prenatal and Postpartum Doula Visits
Labor and Birth Support (hospital, birth center, or home)
2 Extended Postpartum Sessions (up to 3 hours each)
Our doulas are here to offer emotional support, physical comfort, birth planning guidance, advocacy tools, and postpartum care — tailored to your unique journey.
WHO IS ELIGIBLE?
You may qualify for free doula support if you:
Have active Blue Shield Promise Medi-Cal coverage
Are currently pregnant
Are postpartum (up to 12 months after birth)
Recently experienced miscarriage, abortion, or stillbirth
Note:
Most Blue Shield Promise members can access doula services without a doctor referral.
In some cases, a referral may be needed — but Melancentric will help you with the paperwork if needed.
