Looking for a Black Doula Covered by Medi-Cal? You Just Found One.

Dear Black Mama, You Deserve More Than Just a Birth. You Deserve to Be Held.

If you’ve been searching for a Black doula who accepts Medi-Cal, someone who gets it, who respects your story, your body, and your boundaries. I want you to know: you’re in the right place.

My name is Nadja Milankovic. I’m a full-spectrum Black doula, certified lactation counselor, and the founder of Melancentric a maternal support agency built by a Black woman, for women like you. I support births, postpartum journeys, and everything in between with love, with skill, and with care that feels like home.

Why Work With a Black Doula?

Because birth isn’t one-size-fits-all. And neither is support.

I don’t just show up to your birth, I walk with you through it all. My clients often tell me they feel more confident, more heard, and more at peace with their choices because I’m in the room with them. That’s the difference culturally aligned support can make.

I know what it’s like to carry the weight of being a Black woman in medical spaces. I also know how to help lift it; by creating a safe space for you to ask questions, set boundaries, and own your birth story.

Yes, I Accept Medi-Cal.

If you’re covered by any of the following Medi-Cal health plans, you may qualify for free doula support and you can request me as your doula:

  • Molina Healthcare (San Diego and IE )

  • IEHP – Inland Empire Health Plan (San Bernardino, Riverside)

  • Santa Clara Family Health Plan

  • Central California Alliance for Health (CCAH)

  • Scripps Health Plan

  • Kern County Health Plan

  • CenCal Health (Santa Barbara, San Luis Obispo)

Not sure if you qualify? Don’t worry. I can help you figure it out during our first call.

What You Get With Me as Your Doula

You Don’t Have to Do This Alone.

Your birth matters. Your voice matters. Your softness matters.
And you deserve a doula who sees all of that — and stands with you.

If you're ready to feel supported, respected, and empowered — let’s connect.
